W&OD Trail Loudoun County - Part 2!

Updated: Apr 26

This is part 2 of my Adventures on the W&OD trail in Loudoun County on our bikes! If you missed Part 1, check it out here!

In Part 1, we headed west to Purcellville and watched my husband, Dave, chow down on some amazing eats at the end of the trail. But in this video, we head EAST to Ashburn for some BBQ at Carolina Brothers Pit Barbeque, a flight of beer at Old Ox Brewery, and then head back to Leesburg for Happy hour at Wild Hare Hard Cider, and a cup of soup from South Street Under before crossing the street to listen to music at MacDowell's Brew Kitchen! Yes, we definitely got our calories back after biking around all day, but it was so much fun! The W&OD is truly one of the great treasures of this area, and one of the reasons I love living here and selling real estate here.

So let's start with Carolina Brothers! If you're out for a ride, there is no better stop that Carolina brothers if you start to get hungry. It's literally 10 feet off the trail!

Check out the 1 minute mark in the video with highlights of all their yummy food and desserts!

My kids love the banana pudding here, and when they were kids , they would bike the 7 miles from Leesburg to have lunch with us and then head back. Great activity for the entire family!

But, it is BBQ! The pulled pork and brisket are amazing, along with the mac-n-cheese!

The next stop on the W&OD Trail in Loudoun County is Old Ox Brewery. You do have to watch for the sign, because you can just barely see it from the trail in the summer, even though it's just 10 yards off the trail!

They have great brews and they almost always have food trucks onsite also! I recommend going with a beer flight so you can sample the beers.

Sometimes they have music too! You can watch my beer review at the 2 minute mark in the video.

Turning back around to head back to Leesburg, if you didn't eat at Carolina Brothers or Old Ox Brewery, you can stop in downtown Leesburg at one of the many restaurants. South Street Under caters to bikers and you'll always find a few cyclists there.

And if you're looking for an adult beverage, they are right next to Wild Hare Hard Cidery, also a great place to get a flight of Ciders if you're looking for something different!

And if you still haven't had enough, head across the street to MacDowell's, affectionately known as "The Beach". Good food and beer and they usually have music all weekend in the summer time!

You can check out more great videos on my YouTube page below!

Or you can find me on Facebook and Instagram as well! There's always something new there!

And, as always, if you are thinking of making a move, give me a call! I'd love to put all my knowledge, resources & energy to work for you!
