Farmer John's Market

Updated: Jun 10

Farmer John's is one of my favorite places to get fresh veggies in the summer! It's right along Route 15 just north of the neighborhood of Selma in the Lucketts area of Western Loudoun County. I live in Raspberry Falls, also nearby, and the Lucketts region is an area I focus on a lot for my Real Estate business! Buying and Selling homes here is great, but I was so sad when Farmer John's shut down for a brief period of time.

Many thought that Farmer John's Market was gone when the land was sold last year. But, the land is still being used as farm land, and the market has returned this year better than ever! And even better, they have added locally grown mushrooms from Misty Meadow Farm, which is just down the road from Fabbioli Cellars! At the end of the video, check out the massive bone-in ribeye we cooked to serve as the base for our oyster mushrooms that we paired with Doug Fabbioli's Cab Franc!

One of the great things about living north of Leesburg is that we actually have multiple farm stands to get fresh produce!

There is nothing tastier than a fresh tomato! Anything you buy in the local grocery store will never taste as good as a tomatoe that comes off the vine, never hits the refrigerator and you take it home and make a nice caprese salad with it! But, they also have amazing squashes, green beans, fruits, berries, and MUSHROOMS!

Misty Meadow Mushrooms - a Realtors best friend!

Meet Chris the cultivator at Misty Meadows Mushrooms, just down the road from Farmer John's Market! You can't visit them at Misty Meadow, but they sell their local mushrooms to most of the high quality restaurants in Loudoun and you can buy them direct here at Farmer John's Market!

And since you're out here, you have to stop by one of our many wineries. There are a few nearby, incluidng Fabbioli Cellars! Doug Fabbioli happened to be at the market the day I picked up these mushrooms so I had to stop by Fabbioli vineyards for a bottle of wine!

Steak and mushrooms - I get hungry selling homes!

And what goes better with red wine and fresh mushrooms? A massive steak! Okay, I didn't buy it at the Market, but it's still delicious!
