Belmont Country Club
Belmont Country Club opened it's doors in 2001, but the history behind this gorgeous gated community goes back HUNDREDS of years! The north wing of the main clubhouse is the actual building built by Ludwell Lee in 1799. Ludwell was the son of Richard Henry Lee, one of our country's founding fathers. It was the combination of Richard Lee, John Adams and Samuel Adams that guided the original movement towards independence in 1776, and Richard Lee penned the famous "Resolution for Independence" which was passed at the Second Continental Congress on July 2, 1776. Just two days later, the Declaration of Independence was officially announced, which explained the case for independence in his resolution. As a Belmont Country Club realtor, I LOVE the history of this place, and not just the homes here!

Since that time, the estate has seen many different owners including International Business Machines (IBM)! But, in 1995, Toll Brothers bought the estate and six years later opened the doors to the gated community of Belmont Country Club, which featured an award winning Arnold Palmer designed golf course, and is now surrounded by almost 2,000 homes inside the gates, and another 500 homes outside the gates!
Belmont Country Club homes are actually divided into “Villages”, with each village having it’s own unique style. And depending on where you live at Belmont, you have different HOA fees also. While everybody has the same “General” assessment, there is a a variable component also. For example, Belmont Hunt homes, which are outside the gate, have a variable monthly (2023) rate of $24, while the most expensive “Master” sections have a variable rate of $244.

The Country Club has a required “social fee” which gets your family access to the clubhouse and dining as well as common amenities such as the two family pools you see below, which includes a full size lap pool, home of the Belmont Sharks summer league swim team! Next to the family pools are also three community tennis courts, basketball courts and community playground. There is also a soccer field and sand volleyball court!
The Country Club features additional amenities such as membership to the golf course itself, an adults only lap pool, 4 additional lighted tennis courts and Fitness club. The different membership levels are broken out depending on what level of access you want. For example, if you aren’t a golfer, but want access to the fitness center, you can sign up for just a Fitness membership.

Onsite at the clubhouse they have Lee’s Tavern which is a great place to hang out and socialize. They have a great menu, great bar and often have events such as live music or family game nights.
And there are also a ton of additional dining and shopping nearby. Right outside the gates is “Belmont Chase”, with great restaurants like Cooper’s Hawk and Pazzo Pomodoro, and a Whole Foods Market for all your grocery needs. And just down the road you’ll find the Village at Leesburg with dozens more restaurants, boutique shops and services. Equidistant in the other direction you’ll come come to One Loudoun with all their shopping and restaurants as well.

Homes for Sale at Belmont vary in size, price and style, typically ranging from the mid $700Ks to over $2M. The 4500 square foot home below sold in 2023 for $1.1M, with a two car garage, hardwoods everywhere, and a beautiful open design.
At almost double the square footage (and double the price!), this 8100 square foot home sold in for $2.2M. And with a $2.2M home, you get everything you'd expect including a massive dual staircase entrance, massive gourmet kitchen and (of course), and a massive walk in closet with sitting area!
But you can also find some great values in Belmont Country Club as well. Here's a great example of 2,900 square foot, townhome end unit, that sold this year for $770K!
And, as I mentioned above, there are sections of Belmont Country Club that are OUTSIDE the gates. This 6,300 square foot home in “The Hunt” sold in June of 2023 for almost $1.2M! For that size and location, plus access to Belmont Country Club amenities, that’s actually an amazing price!
Belmont Country Club is also adding a brand new 55+ community called the Regency at Belmont, just outside the gates. If you're interested in 55+ communities, you have a lot of options, including this one at Belmont. If this is of interest to you, be sure to check out my 55+ Community page.
